Resurrection Frontiers Saga Part 2 Rogue Castes Series Episode 3 (Audible Audio Edition) Ryk Brown Jeffrey Kafer Tantor Audio Books

I was very pleased to see my pre order filled a day or 2 early, Ryk Brown did not disappoint --- except I'm already wanting the next episode -- I guess I can read faster then Mr. Brown can write!

The first 2 books of the 2nd segment were a bit slow, but #3 was action packed and the only way I put it down was passing out reading.

The first 2 books of the 2nd segment was kind of filing in some blanks and things got all tied up nicely. I'm not going to reveal the plot- I'll say if you like hard sci-fi military type books, you have a high chance of liking the Frontier Saga. The Frontier books are an example of a series that was made popular if not even possible by the ebook format; I've tried some of the recommendations from Amazon -- some were ok, some pretty bad but some were really great recommendations --- like Ryk Brown and his Frontier Saga.

Enjoy

Resurrection Frontiers Saga Part 2 Rogue Castes Series Episode 3 (Audible Audio Edition) Ryk Brown Jeffrey Kafer Tantor Audio Books Reviews

So few authors can affect the emotions of the reader using the words on the page, and Ryk Brown is a master of this. I have read the entire series as it has come out (and re-read it several times) and it has yet to get repetitive. The descriptions of the characters and their thoughts and doubts have caused me to laugh and to cry, and the battle scenes have kept me reading late into the night when I swore I would go to sleep.

In this book, in particular, if you have read the series up to this point and understand the emotional connection I have described, I'll warn you...no spoilers here, but have tissues ready for the power of the last two words in the book.
Do you know how hard it is to read when you can't sit still because a book is sooooo good?!?!

This is the most exciting book in Part 2 of the Frontiers Saga, and probably since the last major conflict with the Jung in Part 1.

I actually shed a few tears of joy at the end!

I refuse to spoil this for anyone, so I won't say much about the plot. But the ACTION! Oh Man, does this book got some ACTION! I cannot wait until the next one comes out! This series has morphed in many directions since it first started, and I was worried that it was in decline somewhat toward the end of Part 1. However, Part 2 has steadily improved to the point of awesome!

This one gets 5 stars and I call it a Kick Ass Read!
Ryk Brown is a great story teller. This is book three in the second series of 15 that Ryk said was his goal. Series One was wonderful. I haven't made up my mind if this series is as good as the first but if not it is close. Nathan's clone is now remembering who he is completely. The bad guys are still the bad guys and the space combat is as exciting as ever those there is not quite as much of it in this book or should I say episode. The series plot is developing and is pulling me in. If you are a Ryk Brown fan you don't really need my recommendation. If you are new to Ryk Brown I strongly suggest you read the Frontiers Saga Part One otherwise it will be like walking into a movie that is half over, you will miss much of the context.
For a fan this episode is very exciting and very satisfying.
I completed it in two days. Be prepared to stay up late.
The elements of plot, character, conflict, and setting all fit together in a most suspenseful way.
Now I begin the wait for the next episode.
Took the entire book to finally rescue Nathan. Why Connor was left behind escapes me. I know that making a copy does not kill so why did the transfer end up with Connor non-functional? Anyway, we've got a long winded plan that finally comes together at the end. At least we think so. It was a little tense at the end, and there's the feeling that everyone is celebrating a little prematurely. Anyway, the gang seems to be all together, and ready to take on the Dusahn. Writing is still good, but it does seem that the author just doesn't want to get to the bottom line. We do need to get a battleship before the Dusahn decide to glass Corinair. Will they out won't they?
I love The Frontiers Saga series. It's an easy read but totally engrossing, I find myself lying in bed for hours trying to stave off sleep just so I can read more. I got through this book in about 3 days or roughly 6 hours of reading, like all the others it's a page turner.

If you've read the other 16 books in the series then you'll know who and what to expect in this story. All the characters are here from the earlier books. Jessica and General Telles are in the final stages of their attempt at restoring Nathan Scott to his new clone body. To get there they must battle through new enemy forces who seem to be much tougher than any previously faced, though perhaps less numerous. There's plenty of action which takes up about 60-70% of the book. At times I skip over small sections but that's mainly because I want to get back to the sections with the main characters.

Chances are good that if you're reading this it's because you've read all the other books and want to make sure this one is still as good as the rest. It is, so get it!
This review comes with the caveat that I am all in with Ryk Brown's Frontier series. I'll keep reading them so long as he writes them. I must admit that sometimes I speed read through the battle scenes because the author does tend to zone out somewhat on the technical details of the weaponry and ship maneuvers. I would caution readers, however, about a few things. First, read the books in chronological order lest you wonder "WTF" is going on. Decide you are willing to suspend your belief in what modern day physics judges as possible. And finally, don't expect much in the way of romance. However, if you do these things prepare for a fun, fascinating and fulfilling ride through Ryk Brown's imagination.
